Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I enjoy this lil flame war as much as the next guy, but the OBEX is disabled by Verizon cuz they don't want it to become a security issue where somoene writes a virus that can jump from phone-to-phone over bluetooth just by walking past another person with a bluetooth-enabled phone. Wouldn't that be fun, you sit there in the subway on your wait to work and not only pick-up a virus, but then spread it to everyone else you pass?

I think bluetooth works well for the headsets and if I want to synch with my computer, I'm perfectly happy using a USB cable.

Well Since it is the 24th and it's not on the web site and it's not in the stores (here at least) I would bet it's coming out in June.
Although I do wish it would come out soon I want to buy it for my upgrade. Also I understand the blocking of anything that might cause a virus from spreading. I don't know if anyone is working on a bluetooth anti virus program but until they do block it please. 🤣

I don't know what you guys are even talking about! Why is it that Americans are so unbelievably clueless about bluetooth?? Europe has had bluetooth phones for something like 5 years now - it really isn't that big a deal. All the phones have unrestricted bluetooth capability (yes, including OBEX) and there has never been a virus problem between phones. The way you're talking about a virus being able to spread from phone to phone sounds like 28 Days Later! Just because you don't know about something it doesn't mean you've got to make other people afraid of it too. Before you accuse me of being a communist, go back to university (if you even went) so you can actually define the term. And, no, I am not a communist. I just dare to think differently than what is fed to us through the type of media you guys love. I thought this was a realease date thread too and i thought we still had another week left in May and with Verizon who knows it could still come out the last week in May! Which would be Monday May 30 or Tuesday May 31! Now we are back on the thread subject!
