So i have a v710 and I have about a week left in my first 15 days. Do you think that I should keep the phone or return it and wait for the e815? I want to know what you guys think because I have no clue what to do and reading everyone else's threads isn't helping me much. also howmuch do you think that it will be with the new every two and the 100$ discount with verizon? 100-150?? Please let me know what you think

Well you can return your V710 and wait. The every 2 year deal they give you up to $100. Unless you have a nice Sales representative who is willing to give you a deal and take more money off. But thats not including accessories. I think the phone will be around the same amount the V710. I think that price was $369.99 so i would say no more than $400 retail thats just my guess though going by the V710. The other problem is no one knows anymore when the E815 is coming out you could be waiting a couple more months so thats your choice i know they are offering a extra $50.00 mail in rebate with the V710 so you cant really go wrong with the price of the V710 phone because even if you bought it retail which is now $269.99 you get a $50.00 mai...

Do you have a clue as to how much the v710 was with a two year contract? around 250 or so? DO you remember? Because with my two year and the 100 off I am hoping that the price of the phone will end up being around 150 or less. Do you think that is plausible? And thanks for responding

I know if retail was $369.99 and than they drop it in $50 intervals like 1 year would be $319.99 1 year would be $269.99 and 2 year would be $219.99. I remember the full retail because i traded my V265 (thankfully) for the V710 and I did it right when the price dropped $100 from retail so now the phone is $269.99 with a $50.00 mail in rebate. Even though it is a EV-DO phone the ones i look at aren't that expensive they are all evenly around $400.00 retail so than minus the 2 year contract price and another $100 for your new every 2.

Stick with the V710 unless you want to use VCAST which will cost an additional $15 a month. Note that VCAST is not available in all markets. Check out VZW's website for details.

A friend bought a V710 a few weeks ago. With the rebate and $100 given to him for renewing for another 2 years, he paid $5!!!!

So you don't think that it is worth the upgrade? how about the 8100? I guess it just seems like you should upgrade to a phone is BRAND NEW. But if there isn't anything all that much better about either than these two then why bother. The camera does bother me a bit and i won't be using vcast. But could these phones just be better phones besides this or pretty much the same old same old.

The upgrade is up to you but the 8100 is also a VCAST phone that you will still have to pay a charge for and it wont be in all of Verizons coverage area I'm in the curve of the thumb in Michigan and we aren't suppose to get it until end of this year early next year. Its a good phone probably but it all depends on what you are looking for. These phones will be better the thing i like about the V710 just because we have some big analog spots is that its tri-mode. I mean you will notice new menu options and better camera and better screen. If you ever looked at a VCAST phone you will see the quality difference in the phone. I know Verizon will be releasing 3 or 4 phones i think they will all be coming out at the same time as well so you ha...

I know it will cost you more money, and I know you're not interested in VCast or a better camera (neither am I) but THREE BIG differences in my book are: 1) Much better design; especially keypad for text messaging, plus a phone inside and outside that will scratch less. 2) The V715 was said to have a very low volume on the ear piece and in a car you almost had to use an earphone to hear, where as the E815 has fixed that problem, and 3) Just the software bugs in general that were upsetting the V715 owners have been worked out. I would wait for the E815, myself. Motorola's own sweepstakes give-away of the E815 is for June 27th, so I'm sure it will be available by then.

Man he got lucky to pay only $5! The thing that gets a lot of people is the accessories thats a good $75 for the car charger and the extended battery a non-bluetooth headset and leather case. They have little packages you can choose from some can go without them some cant like i cant go without a extended battery and thats $59.99 alone so you get a good deal if you do a accessory package even if you end up like me with 5 car chargers 😳 That only god knows what i will do with because motorola has universal ports so you really only need 1 or 2 car chargers.

Well thanks for the advise. I am still confused but leaning towards the v710. We do have vcast in my area but I know that I will never be using it so it just kinda seems like a waste of money for me to get this phone. I don't know though

Well I think the E815 will have better features and be made better is the thing. Its not so much the VCAST. Call me old fashion but i like the V710 because its tri-mode and in Michigan there are some pretty big areas of analog area. They will work on the UP but not the LP of Michigan makes no sense to me! Plus if you just bought the V710 you should have the factory installed updated firmware so you don't have to have to go to Verizon and have them put it in for you. From my understanding from people who had the V710 without the firmware upgrade had many problems i had a V710 without the firmware upgrade it was a complete pain and now that i returned that phone and got a V710 that came with the factory installed new firmware it works gre...
