Some important questions for the experts
First off I am an existing AT&T/Cingular customer. I think that AT&T's service was really good but when Cingular took over my service went down the drain. I am on the GSM $99 unlimited plan so I am going to keep my account with them for a while. I currently have the V600 phone and it's a great phone but Cingular's service sucks. I am a computer consultant and I need my phone to work because I need to be available to my clients at all times. That's why I am going to get another phone with another carrier and I hear that Verizon has the best coverage. This way if one phone doesn't have service the other one likely will.
I have a $300 credit at Best Buy and while I hate them I want to use the credit to buy my new Verizon phone. Now for the p...

I was at Best Buy last week and noticed that they have the V710 for $99. I want the E815 phone but I don't know if it's worth waiting for it and paying at least twice as much when there doesn't seem to be that much difference between the two phones. I will only use the phone to make and receive calls. I don't text message, take pics, don't need video playback, play games or any other BS that isn't related to making and receiving calls. I just want a high quality phone with great battery life and excellent sound quality.
Should I snatch up the 710 for only $99 or should I wait and pay at least twice as much for the 815? From everything I have read they are almost identical except for video playback and

No verizon will not give you a e815 if your 710 turns to crap in 6 monthes.... when u get the phone its like the previous reply states you get a manufacturer reconditioned phone only of the same model.... Now should verizon have to replace your phone 3xs (i know how bad that sounds) you are then entitled to a diff model phone in which
you could probably get the 815
insurance is definitely a good idea... especially the first year... i hate seeing people lose or break their $300 phones when you coulda had insurance and paid much less.... now over time insurance does add up and isnt always worth it... but its a must the first year. ๐

The V710 is not that bad of a phone since the new software upgrade and Verizon is always willing to work with you especially since you are going to be a new customer they LOVE new customers. The main difference is Tri-mode the V710 is tri-mode the E815 is all digital. As far as insurance goes you if they keep sending you bad phones like they did to me with the V60c way back when that was popular they upgraded me to a brand new V60s but you can always request you want a brand new phone. BUT here is the catch you are limited to so many phone claims a year if you go over that they cut your insurance off. Motorola gives you 1 year of warranty incase anything malfunctions in your phone besides you dropping it in water or anything to that exte...

DO NOT buy a LG 6100 if you want to maximize the available service in your area. The 710 will outperform the 6100 significantly in a low signal area. You may prefer the 710 to the 815 for it's analog capability. If need more battery life, buy the extended battery. My 2 รยข...

if you're looking for a really good phone without crazy features check out the lg 7000 also. great battery life and a really solid phone. no Bt, speakerphone, or evdo just a really solid phone. just try to find somebody knowledgable about the network where you travel and make sure you don't need analog capability.

I have the Lg vx 8000 now and I have been having too much problems with it and I have had the battery replaced four times and the phone was replaced three times. I called customer service and they said they would give me a different model. I told them I wanted to go with the E815 so they put the note in my account and when it comes out, they will send it to me.

I really really wanted the 815 until I learned that it wasnt tri-mode. without analog, the 815 is as good as the lg 6000 as far as reception goes...bleh.

Get used to it, trimode will be gone in a few years. EVDO will be pushing it out.
