E815 or vx-8100? Also, what is "crippling?"

Not sure if any comparison can be made before they come out but... I need a new phone and have narrowed it down to these two. I'd like to have Blue Tooth for the sole reason of the wireless earpiece; I drive a lot for work and think it would be handy. I've read about the possiblity of the BT being "crippled." I'm assuming that's disabled? Any why would they? 😉

Your right. The BT being crippled is apparently becoming a VZW trademark. Verizon only allows BT to work with a compatible headset. The reason they would disable it is because they are Verizon Wireless and they want your money for everything. In my opinion, I'll deal with the crippled BT for excellent service no matter where I am.
