It's not all VZW ...

It does seem like Verizon and Motorola are in a relationship beyond friends ...

As most of you know, the v710 was purchased by 3 or 4 CDMA networks in the USA. All of those phones had the same features 'crippled' on them. Although the Altell version of the v710 had working Java, that is about the only difference.

What I am trying to say is Motorola listened to Verizon, in a scense, and made the v710 crippled. I highly doubt each carrier had the chance to remove the crippling.

Don't get me wrong either, but, I don't think we are seeing the bigger picture. We are all, including me, angry at Verizon, not Motorola, or Altell even. Every CDMA USA carrier that has that phone has those features disabled, and they all released a Firmware update around the same time unlocking some locked features.

My point is Motorola is the one doing this, they are just being parasited by Verizon.

Afterwords, I returned my v710 because I blew it up trying to flash it, but according to Verizon, it says I left the battery out for 5 days 😛 I have complete intentions in purchasing the e815, but it's nice how Verizon (Motorola) disabled DUN ... I probably will never use it, but, it's still nice how they are doing that.

I don't even use the PixPlace service on old cell, and like I will ever use it on my e815. What I did on my v710 was made my own 'PixPlace' server with a few PHP scripts, and a CGI based app.

I just know now not to try and flash you phone to the Telus ROM, 'Flash Memory NOT ACCESSABLE!' 'Your phone may be impaired'

I love that error message
