What should sway my opinion towards the e815 other than a possibly earlier release date?
...
well, first off the look of the moto is much better. second, the memory on the lg is superior but for what....if you cant set your ringtones from your mp3's are you really going to utiltize your memory on the 8100? I mean are you really going to load a ton of mp3's and listen to them on your phone and waste the battery life....and speaking of battery life the moto (at least according to the spec's) is far and away the better option.
I too was going w/ the LG but now w/ the launch date pushed back and the inability to set ringtones from my mp3's i have decided to get the moto....at least for 14 days.

good point on the design of the phone..also you're right, i'd prefer battery life to more memory...two questions though: are you sure the e 815 is capable of mp3 ringtones, and what is the difference between the moto's microSD and the lg's miniSD?
-thanks buddha

No verizon phone is made with the ability to have mp3 ringtones, including the e815. I think that his point was why have all the memory on the 8100 if you can't use it for this reason.
...
People that have tested out the phone have said that you can't use the mp3s as ringtones. So if it was made with that ability then it is something that verizon has disabled.

its 512mb for get it now stuff lol... 512mb in a phone for verizon means more money lol... btw I was doing training on lgs website for the 8100 and it only has 4mbs dedicated for pics taken by the phone thats like 100 photos and thats it... the phone is a big disapointment to me like all the recent lgs... last good lg was the 6000

i can create my own ringtones from any mp3 file and set them on my 815. it's the same process you need to do from the 710. it's absolutely ridiculous what you have to go through to set the mp3 as a ringtone, but it can be done.
...
Thats funny because on my LG VX6100 I have MP3 ringtones. Get you facts straight. If you have a camera phone you can get mp3 ringtones. you just have to know how to do it.
...
How do you do it?
I have the Samsung SCH-A670 that I will be replacing with the LG VX-8100 when and if the darn thing ever comes out, but I will wait none the less as I don't see any other phone I like better.. However back on the topic at hand. How do you get mp3 ringtones?
My samsung 670 has a camera.
Thanks

I have had the vx6000 the vx6100 and the v710. None of them come with the easy ability to make mp3 ringtones. I didn't say that it couldn't be done, if you read my post again you will see that I said that there people usually find away around it. And even if I was totally wrong you don't have to be so rude about it.
...
I had to jump in on this one...
I work for Verizon, and I have had a V710 since the first day it came out on the Emp web site.
You can, I repeat can set mp3 ringtones. And I have 2 on mine. One being PPK's resirection.
Now this is the thing, when the update for the V710 came out Verizon disabled you being able to send mp3's over the the phone memory, and without being able to do that you can't set mp3's as ring tones.
I remember poeple on here talking about vzw disabling BT all profiles but Handsfree.
now I wanted to say this my friend had trianing on that phone friday, and I read his hand out, and it doesn't say anything on there about DUN, disabled ot enabled. It did say something about the OBEX profile being disabled. And that w...

cdd9243, who do you think is being rude to you on your question regarding the mp3 ringtones?
I hope you don't think it is me as I was only asking you how you did it so you can walk me through it because I don't know how to do it nor did I know that it could be done..
I was only asking for your help.
...
no no no. 🙂 YOu are fine! I guess that I should have been more specific, but that comment was not directed towards you at all. You have been perfectly polite.
...
oh ok, thank you.. I thought it was me..lol. 🙂

I don't think that you guys are understanding what I was trying to say. I did NOT say that it was impossible ( same discussion on the 8100 thread). People want to be able to use their transflash card that they will be using for their mp3s. Then go in the phone and have a selection that says set mp3 as ringtone. And then that's it. Easy, simple, and that is what you can do at other carriers. Thats it. Now lets just get on to talking about my future phone...
