Unblocking Bluetooth

IndigoVA

Jul 1, 2005, 10:32 AM
Went to Circuit City in Richmond, VA and they showed me the 815 and confirmed they will begin selling it on 7/3. When I complained about bluetooth being blocked (not able to sync with my Powerbook), the sales rep said that I can take the phone to one of their stores and have a technician unblock the bluetooth. When I was skeptical, the rep got the area manager to come over and confirm. I just called the closest store with a repair center and they also confirmed that they will unblock the bluetooth capabilities. I'll let you know Sunday.

If they are able to do that they better hire a lot of extra help and have one of those take a ticket number deals because there will be some major lines for that!

If bluetooth is unblocked, what will that allow me to do that I otherwise could not?

Wow, I find that funny. The reps at my local Circuit City aren't allowed to sell me the phone, and my local Verizon Wireless store say, "No way in hell could we unblock the disabled OBEX profiles, and Verizon Wireless would never do that ..."

Well, I'd like to know what is up, and if you can get your phone unblocked, tell me where you took it, I will fly out there to get mine unblocked.

😳 Will be a BIG surprise to me if a Verizon rep will do that for you. Will be great to hear when you are successful. 🙂

I just called a Verizon store and asked. The chick said it can not be unblocked. But she also said she didn't know the release date was the 5th. Then i was like so you have them in yet and she said they get them drop shipped that morning.

Why is every body so damn shady over the details with this phone. I mean really.

Well, I am in the same boat you are. I live near Pittsburgh PA, and the reps eiter A.) Won't sell it to me. or B.) They won't disclose any information to me.

It's not like top-secret Area 51 information. I know the release dates.

I am half-tempted to call one, and impersonate a Verizon Wireless employee, I'd like to see their reaction.

Thats what i don't get is why they hide this information from the customer. In the end some customers will lose interest in the phone and think a few more Verizon employees aren't all that well educated. I mean its a release date they got the phones in on Thursday how hard is it to say that they have them in and they day the will start selling them is that to much to tell a customer? Bad business if you ask me.
