When I purchased my V710 I read alot of reviews and universally the one thing everyone agreed on was that the speaker phone was great. Now that I own a E815 and have been reading some of the comments, I am curious on whether those who have owned both phones can compare the speaker phone. I think I have read a couple of complaints about it but assumed it would be the same calibur as the V710. What are your opinions?

people aren't complaining about the calibur of the speaker phone some people are just saying there is a echo when they use their speaker phone. Those people just go return the phone and get a new one and usually don't have the problem again thats the only speakerphone problem I've heard about.

The speakerphone is excellent. Very clear, no distortion. I've owned a V60, and it's comparable to that phone. I've heard no echoes so far. 🙂

Yea the V60's had the best speaker phone i have a V60s speaker phone and thats the best speaker phone I've heard yet. Like i said before its a brand new phone there are bound to be some problems with the phone because it was just released. I haven't had 1 single problem with my phone yet. I have had a few problems with Verizon over my phone but thats another story.

I have the echo - I don't hear it but my callers hear back everything they say so I can't even use the speakerphone on calls at all. Going to exchange tomorrow and hope my 2nd week w/this phone is better.

um, hello???? The echo will always be there no matter which phone it is.
It's simple: Phones have a microphone which picks up sounds. People hear you because sounds are picked up by the microphone. The speaker produces a sound, duh, and therefore this sound will be heard by the person on the other side of the conversation, unless the speaker volume is so faint that it won't be picked up by the microphone, but will be too low for the owner to hear.
Use the speakerphone feature sparingly, such as during those times where you are placed on hold for a long time by some corporation.

I have all my volumes on 7 on my E815 and i have not 1 slight echo on my phone the speaker is not a 1 watt speaker my friend. If he is having that much trouble with his phone and he feels the need to return it in his 15 days let him!

Didn't own the 710 but i am disappointed with the speakerphone. The max volume is very low. You really have to pay attention even when you're in a quiet environment, forget it if there's any kind of noise whatsoever...
