Slight buzz when volume above 4

The earpiece volume works fine on 4, but is it normal for a slight buzz when adjusting above 4? Maybe it is designed to use above 4 for headset without buzzing. I love my phone, hope this is normal! I don't want to take my phone back. You can test the phone yourself by calling 611 and setting volume to 5,6 or 7. Let me know if you hear what sounds like a buzz with voice on other end. Thanks!

I read in the LG VX-8000 thread that the volume on the phone when turned high sounds tinny and distorted. The customer called Verizon tech support and they said it was normal with all the phones. I don't feel so bad now! 🙄

I just called Motorola and they said their should be no buzz, tinny sound or distortion at max volume. They advised me to do a master reset, but that didn't help. Maybe I should exchange. Darn, i hope new phone doesn't have same problem! 😢

Motoman82,

Does it sound crystal clear on 7? Are you using a headset? Thanks!

Its Crystal Clear no buzz no sound nothing. Not even using a headset but there shouldn't even be buzzing with a headset. The volume shouldn't cause a buzzing sound in the phone thats a defect. I always put all my volumes on 7 from keypad to ringer to regular volume not because I'm hard to hearing just because the surroundings are loud around me. But i still have yet to have any type of problem with this phone. I was thinking about exchanging my phone because there is a chip on the top of the phone but i think i got real lucky with this phone so i don't know if i want to chance it.

I know exactly what your talking about. I had the same buzzing sound at high volumes on my e815 when I initially used it. It sort of sounds like the speaker is causing the plastic aroung it to vibrate and cause the buzzing sound. I haven't noticed it recently, so I decided to check it again. I just did and i no longer have the problem. i really don't think its the speaker on the earpiece. Its the same type of sound I get when I have my home stereo speakers positioned near something that could vibrate. Once I move the item or the speakers, the sound is fine.

Its probably just the plastic housing aroung the earpiece vibrating.
