Ringtone Volume
Have had this phone for a few days and am satisfied overall. However, today I downloaded a couple of ring-tones from VZW tones. The quality is good, but the volume is significantly lower than the standard ring-tones. Not being a techie, am I missing something here? Even at full volume the ring-tones I downloaded are a bit soft for practical use. Ideas??? Thanks.

Some ringtones are just made softer than others. If you go through your ringtones that were put in your phone and play all the samples you will hear how some are louder than others thats just how they are made. Just make sure you have the volume up to 7 to have the loudest ring.

Thanks for the reply. Had already adjusted the volume to 7. The two classical music ring-tones I downloaded are still significantly softer than the softest tone which came with the phone, so soft as to be unusable in most conditions. If there is no way to adjust these files on the phone, I suspect it is a VZW issue which needs to be fixed and I'll just ask for a credit until they fix it.

Yea that is your best bet you can never tell what the tones will sound like until you download them on your phone. If you preview them on your computer they will sound a lot louder because your speakers on your computer carries more watts than your cell phone does. So i would ask for the credit back and explain the situation.

Called VZW Customer Service the next day and reported my problem. Received a credit on the spot. It appears that they have a few very quiet tones on the VZW Tones site. Downloaded a couple more last evening which are just fine and have very good sound quality. It appears that you must judge the volume of the ring-tone by previewing it on your phone before purchase.
