Don't Be Discouraged

My take on the bottom line based on everything I've read and my own experience: most people love this phone but a few are really disappointed. If you're having problems, you're not crazy for not liking this phone, you probably just have a bad phone. I took good advice from this forum (thank you everyone) and exchanged mine today. I had the echo problem, poor reception & sound quality. The new phone was definitely an improvement (echo seems to be gone--too soon to be sure about reception.) The CC rep was really annoyed with me-kept shrugging her shoulders and rolling her eyes 🙄 and telling me I was the only one with problems. I'm not. I tried to exchange it twice, but she always seemed to be out of the phone. When I walked in to return ...

Thats a good attitude to have. Like i have said in the past its a new phone its bound to have a few bugs it just came out some of the accessories like the extended battery aren't even out. We all know when you are first to buy the phone you will have some problems i am just realizing bad reception problems and losing phones calls 7 days into my phone right now so i am going to end up having to do something Verizon might not like that but they are the ones that made the 15 day worry free guarantee. I also guarantee if a rep wants to give me lip if i go ahead and decide to return this phone there will be a need to worry I've heard people having a lot of bad experiences with returning/exchanging this phone and thats not a good thing at all.

The only complaint I've had is using the Moto HS850 wireless handsfree earpiece with my amazing E815, is the other end of the call hears an echo. I cannot hear any echo, but is this normal with this beadset?

I had the same echo on the bluetooth (as well as the speakerphone,) but I had the HS820 - caller hears the echo - I don't. I returned it (it also had poor sound quality from my end, kind of muffled, and short battery life.) Someone suggested waiting for the newer model coming out later this month (motoman, I think?) I've also read some good reviews on some non-Moto sets (Tekkeon EZ Talker, Jabra FreeSpeak.) It shouldn't echo - but you can try lowering the volume - that seemed to help.

I have never had a echo on my HS820 bluetooth headset the only bluetooth product i had a echo on was the Motorola bluetooth 1 watt speaker and i got that super high pitched noise. So i obviously returned that and anxiously waiting for the H500 bluetooth headset to come out the second half of this month. But there should be no echo in your phone or headset that is not normal i never have had that situation. and other people that have had the HS820 haven't had a echo either. I personally wouldn't buy any other bluetooth headset than a Motorola one though just because they make the phones that will pair up best with the headsets. I never had a problem with the HS820 battery life i could go a week without having to recharge my headset so you...

I am glad that I am not the only one that has exchanged this phone! This phone appears to have some audio issues. The first two phones I had sounded poor when volume was turned up past 5 on the ear piece. I was very discouraged and thought I would give the phone one more try. The new phone is better, but after comparing to other Verizon phones while I was there today, this phone is not as loud at its highest setting, and still has a tinny sound with high pitches. 🙄

👿 The sales rep at Circuit City Verizon was very helpful, very friendly, and very attentive! That sales lady at Circuit City should be fired! How dare her roll her eyes and shrug her shoulders! That's wher I would have lost it! A phone isn't worth that kind of treat...

The CC VZ rep wasn't that bad - no, she shouldn't be fired. She did what she needed to do, which was get me a new phone. She wasn't overtly rude, gestures were subtle, it was just that you could tell she clearly didn't believe there was anything wrong with the phone and I was annoying her by not disappearing. I had to go back to the store 3 times before I was able to exchange my phone. I wouldn't do business there again but I won't hold it against Circuit City.
