the "M" refers to multimedia... its for motorola phone tools.. if you select the E815 in MPT you will only be able to sync the phonebook and the datebook.. if you change your phone to the e815m(which you do by going to setup in MPT then change the medem and select E815m from the list of phones) you will recieve the multimedia icons.. this will allow you to make ringtones, transfer pics, videos, and just simply transfer files.. this can be done bia USB or Bluetooth.. how ever thanks to VZW you will have to do a seem edit to enable this on the phone.. if your interested on doing this the instructions can be found in howard forums.. I am using my cell as an E815m via BT and the features work great

Ok I'm familiar with Mobile PhoneTools it seemed like there was actually a new E815 model called the E815M like a new phone model. I think i misunderstood what was going on. But thank you for explanation.

yeah, I updated my phone to be an 815m and now either with MPT or just with the software that came with my bluetooth adapter I can browse files or connect to the internet. Since Motorola shipped the phone to be able to do all this stuff, turning it back on is just undoing what Verizon did, no harm seemingly as I've had no problems nor has anyone on HoFo

I don't mean to sound dumb, but I want to get all I can out of this phone and am not really sure what you are talking about here, how to do it, what the benefits are, etc. If someone has the time, could you explain it to me further? Thanks in advance for your time.
