Before verizon 'addopt' the phone, I read that the phone was capable of taking up to 5 min video with the our of box memory card - is it possible to take videos greater than 15 seconds? I went thru the options and couldn't find a way to change it.

if you update your phone's 2742 seem you can unlock extra options for the videos such as quality settings as well as length.

sclark over on hofo wrote up a nice tutorial here:

Once you do the seem edit you'll be able to change quality and length of the video, but it seems to only let me do 3 minute ones when I have it saving onto my transflash card, not the camera...I guess it doesn't want to waste space on the camera's internal memory with a 3 minute video on high quality.

I am able to take 3 min videos using transflash 256MB. Here's how: Camera>Video camera>Videos menu>Switch storage device>Trans T-Flash. Now go back to Videos Menu>Videos setup>Video length>Maximum. You should be able to capture 3 min videos now.

If anyone can capture 5 min w/o seem update, please let us know. Thanks!

3 minutes is more than enough for me, that's for sure: Thanks for sharing that.

15 seconds is a complete joke IMO. Why even bother LoL

BTW, after recording it, are you able to freely move your 3 minutes video clip from off the T/F onto your PC without any problem? Thanks.

Wow, that's great! Surprised Verizon didn't cripple that option! Excuse me, but I am pretty pissed off at Verizon for charging standard minutes on holidays effective Sept 1st! It's the least Verizon could do-allow us to download pics onto transflash from computer and use as wall paper, etc., and transferring videos from transflash to computer. OK, I'm still pissed though!

I have to agree with you on that skorpyo31

Its wearisome to some degree to have to re-educate yourself again and again into the new world of technical modification (hacking) just to make your way thru to the capabilities that that some at the very least should be freely available by default.
