The phone creates the folders either when you save something to the card, or when you first put the card in.
I pulled my card out of my phone, formatted it FAT in my PC, and it was blank. I put it into my phone, and the phone froze for about 5 seconds (presumably creating the folder structure).

still confuses haha sry!...dont you format the card in your phone? that's what it says to do in the official V710 online manual on motorola's website...so when you put the card in the reader your folders are already there and you can immediatly open your personal folder with your mp3's over and drag them into the transflash audio folder?

I thought I had found a FORMAT menu option on my V710 at one point ...
But I could not find it on the E815. So I just formatted the card on my PC.
Files don't have to be in a particular file on the TF card. I have created my own folders for Music, Movies, Wallpaper, and Ringtones right off the root of the TF card, and the phone finds all the files without any problem.
When I take a picture with the camera and save to the TF card it simply puts the PIC in to the root of the TF card ... not in the \Motorola\ subfolders.
...
one more question, so as soon as you put the TF card in the reader something will pop up on my computer screen with all the TF card data?

depends on the reader ... most of the time XP should detect a new drive and the default action is to open an Explorer window to that new drive.

thanks so much for your help! 😁
