Anyone else having a problem with voice dialing by name? Steps and results as follows:
-I hit the bottom button on the right side of the phone and I get the "Say a command" prompt
- I say call and receive "Say a name or number"
- I say a number and the functionality works, however,
- if I say a name, regardless of the name, where I am as far as outside noise, etc, I alwasy get the "name not recognized" response.
Maybe I just have a lemon since I have this problem as well as the echo problem etc.

You have to say call AND the name, not just call, ex. call john. Then if you have home, mobile and office for this person, it will then say which number? Then you say home or office or whatever.

Thanks for replying. That didn't work for me however. Here is what I am experiencing:
-If I say "call " the phone repeats "Say a Command"
-if I just say "Call" after "Say a Command", I get "Say a name or number"
- when I just say the name or say " mobile" for instance, I get "Please repeat" and then when I do, I get "name not recognized"
if i say a number when it says "Say a name or number" it works.
Thanks again for replying

Hmmm? Not sure about that.

Try pressing a button and the WAIT until it says "say a command". Say, "call john doe" for example. Trust that works; it's been working well for me.

If you are using a BT headset when trying the voice dialing, consider the possibility that the headset may not be working properly. This happened just recently to me. I thought the voice dialing was not working only to find out that the headset was not working.

It might be the way your phone book is setup, some people have reported that if one of the entries has a 'dash' or hyphen in it, the voice dialing will screw up the whole phone book
Check that out, make sure all entries with multiple names are separted by spaces not special characters.

You have to say "Call John Smith" and do not hesitate between names.

Thanks on the replies. I got the voice dialing working fine. However, I am done with the E815 due to other issues:
- echoing on other end with bluetooth
- poor voice quality - i.e. other saying my voice was distorted on there end
- inability to hear the other person with plug-in headset
etc., etc.
I tried two of the E815 and they both were crap.

You should replace the phone. My first phone would not recognize name calling about 90% of the time. If I turned it off and back on, it would work great for a while, then revert to HORRIBLE recognition.
I would say "Call Home" and it would say "9 1 1 connecting" or "Call American Integrity" and it would respond with random names.
The second phone had near-perfect recognition.
