If you have your alarm set and recieve a text message and dont read it, will the alarm still go off at the set time?

Good question, my guess is it will, no reason it shouldn't. But why don't you just try it and see if it does! 😉

Set the alarm for a few minutes from now and email yourself a text message. Let us know what you find! 🙂

It worked fine with my V710. Get my 815 this week hopefully, I will find out then. Always get messages at night when I am passed TF out. 🙂

Has anyone else had a problem with this or not had a problem? I'd really like more information about this potential glitch before I buy this phone.

Yes......you can do a search of the forum on the forum main page at the bottom and get all the postings on this subject. You can start with "alarm" and then try "Text message" or "text".

The search works well and there is lots of good reading on this subject and about any other question you may have! 😉

I did a search and read through countless posts and it has not led me to a definite conclusion. I am surprised how little has been posted on this.

If people have or don't have this problem please post either way and let me know.

Thanks.

You will notice in some of the postings that you read on this subject that others have noticed that the alarm did not go off as expected if you have not read your text message.

But the best way to find out for yourself is to just set the alarm and send yourself a text message an see what happens. Your phone may be a different version, who knows! 😉

If you have this problem, the best thing to do is simply read the message when it comes in! ...

Alarm does not work when you have an unread messages. As soon as you read messages, alarm goes off.

People keep saying the best solution is to "just check the message". I realize this, but I wouldn't be setting an alarm in the first place if I wasn't gonna be sleeping which makes checking the message rather difficult.

Has anyone not had this problem? (Please just post yes or no as my purchasing of this phone depends heavily on this factor)

If this is the case, will Verizon or Motorola make a patch to fix the problem?

If your decision depends heavily on this factor, then.........better start looking at other phones. I heard the 8100 does work ok on this feature, but has other problems. 😡

That is the way this one works and if it going to be changed in the future, no one knows!! ...
