can anyone tell me how to change the default wap gateway address on the e815 so I can use the free webtunnel. I have the new address to insert but need access codes for the e815 and its location.

Press the following:

073887*

Make sure you press the digits fairly quickly after pressing the Menu button. If you wait too long it will tell you 0 is an invalid entry.

Then use code 000000.

Hmm, the forum stripped out part of my post due to using angle brackets.

Let me re-post part of it with different characters:

Press the following:

I'm going to ask a really stupid question here-- what is the original thread talking about?

You can get "free" (airtime usage only) Internet access from your phone, you don't have to pay the $5/mo. for Mobile Web. You just need to set a working proxy server and port # in a custom Web Session.

that was tough but it worked. "finger gymnastics" I entered in the new ip address and named it waptunnel. Openwave connected but apparently I also need to subscribe to "wireless internet".

Would I need to modify anything else to use the waptunnel? Am I missing something else? Do I need to subscribe to the wireless service?

Nothing else that I can think of. I did have huge problems with some of the proxy servers I tried, some of them were just plain unreliable. Try a few others.

Here's a link that talks about using Yahoo's WAP page and their proxy server. Although you won't be able to get "outside" of Yahoo with it, at least you will be able to tell whether or not it's working.
