Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

editing main screen?

can anyone tell me if there is a way to edit the main screen so that "Verizon Wireless" is not seen nor "speakerphone on" so that I can enjoy a picture of my son uncluttered?

Deleted, moved or minimized might work.
