RE: MP3 player

I'm just curious, if Verizon disabled the MP3 player so they could charge us for songs when MOD comes out, why didn't they also disable the MP3 player on the 815? Same company, same customers, same profit coming in???????????

Just a note, don't think I'm praising the 815 by asking this, just curious about this. I had an 815 first and switched for and 8100, which I LOVE by the way.

Hey Mary424, what's up? I had an 8100 up till today and switched over the E815 (which I love btw) the 8100 would have been a great phone for me except I got tired of all the problems with it.

Yes, Verizon did disable the MP3 player because of the MOD service. The sad thing is that by the time they release it- both of these phones will be obselete.

Well, I guess that's why it has been a great phone for me, because I, unlike others, haven't had any problems (knock on wood). I believe that too-about the phones being obsolete before MOD is released. The MP3 player was not a selling point for me. I actually put songs on my 8100, got a stereo headset and they sound awesome, but I rarely listen to them as I'm usually in the car and listen to the stereo. So it's not an issue to me, I could totally do without, BUT was very curious why they disabled one and not the other.

Actually, from I've heard and read is that the 8100 is the flagship phone for the new service.

We'll probably be checking out the new phones in 6 months anyway.

This music on demand is not good at all. They will charge you for every song you download onto your phone, when you can get songs for free on either phone, 8100 or e815

Verizon customer support told me that Motorola and Verizon have some sort of agreement, and decided to not disable certain features. Not sure why, but it's good for us! 😁
