Future Firmware Updates for e815?
How will e815 owners be informed when there are firmware updates available? Will it be from Motorola or Verizon? And what will the update process be? Online downloads or going to Verizon store? Before I got this phone, I never knew there were firmware updates. First time was when Verizon flashed my phone to put V Cast on it. Thanks.

You can be sure that any firmware updates will be mentioned in this forum.
To get the firmware update, just go to any Verizon store and they can "flash" your phone.
Most of your personal settings will most likely return to the default and you will have to set them up again. Not sure about any downloaded ringtones if they will be lost or not. You may want to ask the rep first what will be lost or changed before you do it. Sometimes the setup in the Contact list may change too, like speed dial #s and IDs.
If the update is not something you really need, you may not want to have it done if you phone works ok the way it is.
Remember, newest is not always better! 😕
