E815 Browser & Verizon

When I had my other E815 (before returning it, due to defects) I was able to hit the left key to open up the browser, it would say "connecting" and bring me to a special Verizon page where I could choose to sign up for the Mobile Web Access(which I never did sign up for in the first place) or allow me to check txt messages used, minutes, etc...all airtime free through the browser. This E815 won't even let me do that....just says network not available. Verizon says I am not even supposed to get anything BUT this message....there is no airtime free checks without signing up for mobile web. Anyone else phone work or not work for at least the free part without having paid for mobile web???

I believe the mobile web, probably because it is only $5.00 a month does not have any free grace period option like the free month of vcast. You need to call a Verizon rep and order the 2.0 Browser. 😎 😎 😎

Mine works just fine?

menu, Mobile Web(4),Open Wave logs on and it gives me 2 options. Option 1 says "My Account" and is free.............I check my balance and minutes, TXT message usage etc. all the time.

Option 2 is the "Mobile Web" and costs $5.00 per month. Like I said, option 1 works fine on my E815 and I use it all the time.

Yeah, I called Verizon Customer Service....3 people (yes 3) all said I should NOT have any options like that on my phone, even though I explained the first E815 I had it worked fine (just there were OTHER issues). Tried Get it Now...that didn't work either. Went to the Verizon store, the rep pulled out a new E815...it works perfect on there. So now I am on phone #3, and this one seems to be just fine. Just wish at least ONE of the Verizon reps knew what was supposed to be on the E815 (even the rep at the store laughed when I told her 3 VZW Cust Serv Reps couldn't help) 😁

By the way....free V-Cast for a month? Hmmmm, I was never given an option like that. Was this some sort of special or something I should be receiving? Would be ...

I had a similar problem. I have VCAST (had to call after the fact & request it as it wasn't offered to me & didn't come active on the phone)& I could get videos & Internet access for everything except the VZW Services. Every time I tried to access it to view my balance it would take me through the motions & then come back & say "For Wireless Internet Service, Please Dial *611". Since I had wireless internet service already that worked for everything else, I called C/S and they put me through to a Tech. He did something on his end & then had me dial *22899. Once that programming was done & I hit OK he had me turn off my phone & then turn it back on. It corrected the problem & now I can access VZW Services as well as everything else.

Well I just found out that supposedly I was given the free 1 month of VCAST when I activated this phone, but that was in early July. I asked nicely if I could have it activated now since it never worked(of course I tried it when I first got my first phone but it didn't work, and I figured that was just because I never had the feature), but after finding out I DID have the feature they refuse to have the one month start from now...though I never used it before because I did not know I had it free for a month AND because me just trying to see what it was like and it not working, they said I should have called at THAT time to say it wasn't working. Se La Vie ;-) At least I now know it was a free option for a limited time. Otherwise phone is...

that's true you get the mobile web with vcast because that is part of the vcast price - so a free month of vcast will give you a free month of web - but you cannot get the mobile web by itself free for a month (such as on a non-vcast phone)

All the VCAST phones get a free month of VCAST which by default entitles you to a free month of UNLIMITED Mobile Web 2.0
