Can anybody help with this problem which has plagued me for what seems to be an eternity?!?

I can't get MPT to recognize my e815 at all. All I'm trying to do is use the OEM data cable to transfer things like ringtones, games, etc. Here's the rundown:
1. I have PST and SM Modified P2K running just fine.
2. I have installed what I believe to be are the newest drivers for the phone.
3. I believe it's a Com Port problem, but I don't know how to change it. I don't even know how to bring up the menu to figure out what's on what Com Port.
4. I'm running XP (SP2), PST 7.1.1., and MPT 3.25
5. I've done all the major SEEM edits
6. I've changed the cable to different ports, and I do have USB 2.0.

Check the Device Manager and see if the phone is actually installed and recognized by the computer. If it is, it will say Motorola USB modem. There should also NOT be any yellow or red question marks next to it. If there is, then the Driver is not installed properly.

If you need the "right" driver and instructions on how to install it properly, do a search of the forum. search is on the main page at the bottom, and the link for the driver download and instructions are listing in one of the posting for USB driver.

Let us know what you find.

OK, after one full week, working on this every single day with no end in sight, your advice WORKED!!! I really don't know what I actually did to fix it, other than download the same drivers again and repeat the steps, but for some reason it worked this time! Thank you so so so much.

One other question for the Zen Master of the e815...

Can the phone play java games? Is there a list of workable games for the phone? And how/where do I get the games from my computer to the phone via the USB cable? I have one game I wanted to put on it, but I am:
1. afraid to put it on and screw the phone up because it's not compatible, and
2. unsure where to put it or how to play it once it's on there.

Thanks again, and thanks in advance!!!

The phone is not really for games, remember it is a PHONE! A Game-boy would work much better.

Maybe someone else can help you if you MUST play games, but remember, the battery will DIE quickly! So there goes the PHONE! 😉
