Can phone be left on while charging

Can I charge the phone and still have it turned on? Will it work properly (ring, voice mail etc)? I am in the medical field and it is important that I keep the phone on at all times. Thanks for your assistance.

See post on 8100 forum.

By the way, in that post I mentioned my LG-6000.

I had the 8100 for 7 days but returned it because of volume problems. I had no battery problems with it!!

I'm waiting to see if any of the other issues complained about in these forums are resolved before I choose a new phone.

I had the 8100 and had some problems with volume so I switched to the E815. I had the phone on and charging Friday night and a call came through at 9:45 pm. The person said it went directly through to voice mail and I did not receive notification of the voice mail until 3:00 am. That is why I asked about the E815 and the VX8100

I think that's a network problem with Verizon, not necessarily a problem with the phone or battery.

I've had text messages delayed by the sluggish network, although not a long as your delay.

If the phone is on, it should receive all communications within a few seconds, or a few minutes at most... not hours later.

Of course, I wouldn't rule out your phone as the cause altogether. So, if the problem persists, I'd call Customer Service.

Good luck! 🙂

Absolutely, that's never been a problem here 😁

Yes, I always leave my phone on while it's charging overnight - what if someone called me in the morning? :-)

Just fyi - if you get a new e815, make sure you turn your old phone off. For a little while I wasn't receiving calls, but it turned out to only happen when both my new phone and my old phone were off. (eventually tech support was able to give me instructions on how to remove my phone number from my old phone's memory, and that fixed the problem permanently.)

Yes. The only thing you might watch out for is that it may set the ringer to LOUD when you plug in the charger. I dang near crapped my pants the first morning it rang while on the charger.

I have tested it several times and the ring volume always went to Loud when on the charger.

I just noticed this the other day. Very annoying.

However, it only seems to do this if the phone is in Vibe or Vibe-then-Ring modes. If the phone is in Soft or Silent mode, the ring style will not change when I put it on the charger.

I don't really see the point of switching Ring Style when putting it on the charger. Does anyone know if this can be disabled?

The phone switches to the "Loud" profile when it's being charged. Just change what the "loud" profile does (you could make it silent or vibrate if you wanted), and that's what your phone will do when plugged in.

I like that it switches profiles. I'd hate to miss a call because I plugged my phone in while it was on vibrate, then it just kept vibrating to alert me while it was sitting on my desk.
