Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood
voice recognition???? driving mode??
I have recently switched to a Motorola e815 from an LG phone. I had voice recognition and driving mode on my old phone. Does the Motorola E815 have that???
Additionally, the banner that displays on the main screen...I have put my name on it, but it seems to be switching from VERIZON WIRELESS to my name...is there a way to make it only show my name?

yes the 815 has great voice recognition for driving mode. by pressing the lower right button you initiate the voice command function. You can then say "call george home" as an example and it will reply "call george home". You reply yes or if it did not get it correct no. If you say call george and there is more than one number for george than it will ask for a confrimation on which number. You can also ask it to dial a number even if it is not already in your contact list by saying the number. If you do this you should be aware to not go slowly but rather speak as if you were naturally talking. If you hesitate after the area code it will not register properly. I always say zero instead of "O".

My voice rec quit working. Press the button and get nothing. I dont know that I changed any options on the phone. Even my headset cant activate it now.

Are you pressing it long enough? If so, I can not think of anything else other than talk to tech support or swap it out under the warranty.

If i press it too long voice recording comes on. When I first got the phone it worked fine with just alittle more then a tap.
Going to try a phone reset and see what it does..

I seem to remember something like this happening if you delete all the quicktext entries or something. If you did do that, add one back and I think it starts working again.
