my battery only lasts about 1 day on standby. i don't make any calls or receieve any calls or play with it. the phone is just on and it dies after about 20-30 something hours on standby. i do have the flashing ev and 1x thing, but i know someone else in my neighborhood with one and they obviously have the flashing ev and 1x too and their e815 lasts for like 3 days or so on standby with minimal use, meaning not many calls, calls aren't long, and no playing with the phone either. i switched my battery for a new battery at the verizon store no problem, but the new one runs out just as fast as the one that came with it. so i think it's the particular phone that i have that's the problem.

so, my question is has anyone exchanged their e815 beca...

Get the extended battery. Haven't charged mine in days. A little bigger, but who cares when you still can use your phone.

it's not the phone. there's about a million posts on this. you're in an area testing EVDO. you're switching between 1X and EVDO constantly no doubt. i would be willing to bet money that this is your problem. there is a fix to turn off EVDO and your phone will last 3 days just like mine does. go to www.howardforums.com for more information.

Just switch the EVDO option off. I had the same problem and even posted a E815 battery is horrible note and got lots of good advice. here is a link to a page that will tell you how to do it.

I live on the fringe of verizon's EVDO network. My phone was constantly flip flopping. I switched it and now it is always on 1X. I charged it fully on sunday and took it off at 5pm that afternoon/night. On thursday night it finally went from 6 bars to 4. being the weekend was coming up, i charged it. I keep my phone on 24/7 and use it alot, because i have no landline. So switching the EVDO off is the key. before my battery would only last 2 days. 2.5 max. so switch it off.

it was my phone. i exchanged it for another e815 and i've had it for two days now. i charged it the day i got it (two days ago) and it is still on 3 bars today after being on all day and night on standby for the last 2 days, flashing from 1x to EV, and only getting two 20 min. calls. so, i suggest that anyone having the same problem that i was having do the same and exchange their phone for a new one.

i started a new thread earlier today saying the same thing, but i figured i should post it here too for the people who contributed to, and were following, this thread. this battery problem might not be so much the switching from 1x to EV, it may be a defect with some of the phones, and because it shows up in many phones, possibly a widespre...

Eh Motofan1, Well I have no idea how to say this to you. When I got the phone, I was able to charge the phone after 4 days. Later on it started to decrease, I would charge the phone after 2 days and than it decreased to 1 day. Once I got the fix howard forums and guess what it has been ever since. Anyways i have read your poast and you should have done the fix and you would not needed to change your phone.

I have had 2 E815's in the last month. The first one pissed me off because I scratched it. That was reason number one for switching. The second was that my battery and/or phone sucked. I still do not know which one it was. My battery would last 1 day at full charge if I didn't talk barley at all, and if I did use it alot, it would go down within 2 days, and then beep on low battery. It really ticked me off since I would lose battery just on standby, while i was at work, and then after work I would not be able to use the dang thing. So then i exchanged BOTH the phone and battery and now I LOVE this phone. Only problem is that my phone was flung from the top of a car into a busy road, and now is scratched up. Luckely it still works perfectly f...

thrown from a car huh? take better care of your stuff! this one works better. don't beat it up! i'm kidding. 😛 i'm glad i wasn't the only one who went through that, but i'm also glad that you got everything straightened out with yours. how's the batery life on the phone you have now? how long does it last with and without talking on it? thanks for your story. i feel better that it wasn't only me who had that situation. 😎
