I received MPT and a BlueTooth adapter in the mail the other day and sat down to install it on my PC.

1st night - nothing is working properly, even when I load everything as directed in an earlier thread. Decided not to to obsess about it and give it a whirl the next night, hopefully starting early enough that I can call Moto Customer Support if I bogged down again. I deleted the program and restored the PC to the previous day's values. Oddly, the BlueTooth information did not disappear.

2nd night - Carefully followed instructions from the earlier thread, still nothing worked properly. Called Moto Customer Support and was immediately routed to a "Software Guy". I think he was in Japan as his accent was kinda hard to understand, ...

not with vzw as the provider. bluetooth is disabled in transfering multimedia. He is correct that you wuld need to use a cable. an alternative in transfering multimedia is to use the transflash card.

bluetooth should work for other data transfer according to MPT manufacturer which is BVP here in the denver area.

do a search in this forum for Mobile phone tools ans you will see my posting to the MPT link and contact info for BVP

Sammy2,

Been there, done that, got conflicting answers from subsequent calls to Motorola. I finally came to the conclusion that my USB cable (non-Moto approved) might be the problem and that my Bluetooth adapter (made in China by a REALLY off the wall company) was not working correctly.

The morel of the story is (surprise) "you get what you pay for". I went EBay cheap and shoulda known better.

I bought a cheapo cable and MPT 2.0, then upgraded MPT to 3.25b. I use the cable on my desktop and BT on my laptop to sync my contacts to Outlook 2003 without any problems.

Yes, MPT 3.25b deos support BT, but not for data transfer with crippled VZW phones. I suspect if I were to "seem edit" this thing, it would also do data transfer via BT.

My problem is that my reasonably new and pristine PC doesn't seem to recognize the Bluetooth dongle when I put it in the USB port. Moto Customer Service tried heroically to figure it out...but they have only so much time to sort silly connectivity issues.
