mp3 ringtones using the Trans Flash card
Okay, so I'm wanting to put mp3's on my phone via the transflash card. I cut the file down to 15 seconds and saved it as an mp3 @ 40 kbps using WavePad. I then renamed the file to .mid and inserted the transflash card into the phone, changed storage devised, clicked the menu key and 'apply as a ringone' does not appear. Could anyone help me?

You can't do it like that. You have to do the following:
Create a new PIX message. Send it to the phone number 111-111-1111. The message won't send because the number does not exist. This is good-you won't get charged for it. Go to your message outbox. The message will be there with the ringtone file in it. Open up the message, save the attachment. You can now apply it as a ringtone.

Btw, when I said the message won't send, I meant the phone will say "message failed". That's a good sign. Verizon blocked copying sounds off the transflash into the phone memory directly or using them as ringers directly on the phone because they want the money from Get It Now. This is just an easy workaround.

Thank you very much that worked fine. Just to let everyone know, you must save the file then to the phone and not the transflash card. I didn't get that at first due to the original wording. The advise was great thanks!!!! 😁

What's a PIX message?
Do I need to subscribe to any additional VZW service?

no, it's short for picture message. they cost a quarter a piece if you don't have a plan. you won't get charged for them because the delivery will fail if you send it to 111-111-1111.
