Ok, I figured out I need PhoneTools to sync between the E815, and my PC. It looks as if I buy the kit for the V710 it will work.
Now my question is, you can buy it off of ebay for $10 + $10 shipping (cable and software). But the software is version 3.0, not 3.25. Can I still get a free upgrade to version 3.25?

Buy the OEM version of the cable and then do a Live Update of the software.
If you do a "search" of this Forum for USB Driver you will find the instruction on loading the driver and updating the software.
The sync can be with MPTs built-in software or with Outlook.

If you purchase your phone tools from the actual manufacturer which is BVP (avanquest) then the software will work for most if not all phones as compared to just motorola phones (this form moto and BVP folks). They call it the delux version but actually it is simly the 3.0 version that you can update. Speaking the other day with MOTO support was absurd since they could not speak English very well. A five minute conversation took twenty and still I was frustrated with the quality of responses. You can call BVP here in Denver they were very helpful particulary on the VZW issue of locking out mulitmedia transfers over phone tools on the 815.

I ended up ordering the kit from Ebay. It was $9 with $12 shipping. I hope to have it no later then Saturday, but who knows when it comes from Ebay. Motorola wanted $60+ shipping, and it was a 2 week turnaround.

I did not want to mess with the phone so I have not tried. I am perfectly willing to use a cable.
