Can't Synch Calendar
Anyway, finally got the contacts to synch with my outlook (connecting via USB), but when it tries to synch the calendar, the green progress bar moves to the right, the message says 'processing' or some such, but once the bar hits the right end ... it stops and nothing else ever happens. Eventually (and I left it for an hour last night while doing something else), if I go to task manager, it says that tools aren't responding, so I have to terminate it.
Any suggestions?
So far, nice phone, but the PIM stuff really sucks. Why does it take SO long for the phone to even connect?
I would suggest you un-install MPT and delete the driver (through Device Manger). Since the driver may be a problem, because I don't know where you got it from, do a search in this forum for "USB driver" and you will find the link to the CORRECT driver and how to install it and update MPT. The link that I provided in an earlier post I KNOW works and is correct. (I can't vouch for any others because there are some bad ones out there!)
Follow the instructions EXACTLY and it should work with no problems.
Good luck! 😁
Wasn't saying that the MPT sucked, just the extremely limited data elements that the phone's PIM stores. I'm used to having addresses and notes stored along with contact info, and it's very disappointing to see such limitations these days on ANY phone.
Also, I've talked to others with the same phone and they're having the same LONG connect times when trying to synch, so not sure that's it's just my PC congif, but I'll work on it.
Thx.
Deleted the device and driver from my PC, reinstalled FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY, and at this point, have the exact same problem. When it tries to synch the calendar, the green progress bar scrolls to the right, stops, and the MPT software quits responding.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get all of this to work correctly?
2. What does it list the phone in the Device Manager as?
3. What version of Outlook are you using?
4. When MPT comes up, does it show you an exact replica of the 815?
5. Does it sync the Contacts ok?
6. What version of Windows are you using?
7. Are you using an OEM cable or one that also charges the phone when in use?
8. Are you able to sync with the software that in built into MPT (it's own Calendar and Contacts version)?
