pts

Verzion Tech and Moto both tell the that verizon turned off the feature to use the E815 as a Modem. Is this True and if not How do I connect my PC to the phone so I can access the Internet on my PC. Please don't tell me to go to Howrdfourms. I spent hours there and I am totally confused. VZN also told me if I play with the software it will void the Gty and the phone may stop working. They also said they have no plans for a Mobile kit for the E815 and I should downgrade to the V710 if I want to use the phone as a modem/ please help

Sure it can be used as a modem. 🙂 Just do a search in this forum (the search block is at the top and bottom of the main forum page) You will find LOTS of information on what you are asking.

Just try "e815 as Modem" in your search and it should bring you the answers.

Using the search you should be able to find answers to most any of your questions. 😉

I just did the same search (e815 as Modem) and came up with information on how to do it. Don't know where you found anything saying it could not be done! 😕 Here is the link to my search:

The SECOND post tells you what is needed and what you need to locate to do it. The FORTH post has additional information along with some of the others.

Doing additional searches you should find all the information and drivers you need.

SCLARK10000 final version.

Follow this to a T, and you can use use it via Bluetooth even. You need the cable to Seem edit the phone though.

YOU CAN HOSE YOUR PHONE DOING THIS STUFF, so it's at your own risk...

If you don't know Hex code then make sure you follow these edits very carefully...

You can get a legal copy of MPT and the cable for under 20 bucks off ebay. I think the guy from accstation is even thowing in a phone booster or background ringer cd depending on which auction you win.

The Verizon folks say that it won't work but I really want to give it a try.

Will it in fact work on Verizon's network?
What cable kit should I buy? The Verizon folks say the closest is the one for the 710 and a MOT P/N of 98653H

Thanks! I really don't want to go to a 710 for a modem!
