V710 Batteries for E815

I've been to 2 Verizon Wireless Stores this past week to see if any E815 extended batteries may have came in just in case they may had failed to announce it on their website.
Each store tried to push me into buying V710 standard & extended batteries saying that both phones are physically the same; just different software.
A question in the Motorola's support website FAQ section mentions about the V710 & E815 batteries. It recommended to use only the In-box E815 standard battery with the E815 battery door.
I know that answer is kind of vague since you may already have the V710's extended battery door that comes with the battery so the battery would fit.
Was Verizon just trying to make a sale or there really isn't any issue concerning using both phones batteries?

I currently have a v710 and was wondering if the standard e815 battery would fit in it. I emailed Verizon and and Verizon said in a reply:

Thank you for contacting the Verizon Wireless website.

I appreciate your inquiry regarding accessories for your Verizon Wireless phone, and I am happy to assist you.

I called Motorola and was advised that the standard battery from the Motorola E815 will not fit the the Motorola V710.

I have replys from other phonescoop members that said they have enterchanged batteries from the E815 to the V710.

I have heard that the V710 extended battery will be the same as the E815 extended battery but I hear it is not the same with the standard batteries.

I bought an extended battery on ebay, the serial # says its for the 710, but i am using it on my 815 (along with the bigger battery cover.) I got 3 full days of calls and txt/pix/flix messaging. I am very happy with it. 😁 😁 😁

Thanks abbadab,
I couldn't resist any longer myself and brought the V710 extended battery for my E815.
I also purchase from the Motorola website the desktop charger with the adapter for charging a spare battery since now I have the E815 standard battery which came with the phone & the V710 standard and extended batteries.
The desktop charger was cheaper on the Motorola site than it was on Verizon's. Plus I had the 10% discount for registering the phone.
I think due to the constant swapping at my home between EVDO and 1X receptions, I'm only getting about 2 days worth of battery power. I live in one of the outer boroughs of NYC; I really didn't that would be an issue.
