E815 vs. LG VX4650

I'm a new VZW customer coming from GSM with a small local carrier in VT. I'm now living and working in the Boston area. I picked the VX4650 as I felt tri-band would be useful in the rural parts of VT and NH where only analog is available. Also I don't really want or need a camera.

However, in spite of the glowing reports I read here about the VX4650's reception, I have found it will not hold a call in the building where my new job is located. If I walk over to a window then it works. My previous GSM phone, which I still have for 30 days, works much better inside this building.

My question is whether the Moto E815 could possibly do substantially better than the VX4650 for reception in a given location. If I return the LG phone and get t...

I have not tried both, so I cannot say which is better for reception, but wanted to suggest you check with co-workers and see if any of them have Verizon service (with any model phone) and if they have reception problems in your building also. It could be the phone, but it may not be. I have had several model phones from Verizon over the years and no matter what phone the one place I get "no service" is in the Meijer grocery/department store. My friend has Centennial and can use hers in there, but none of my Verizon phones have ever had service there.

That's funny Mary...because I get extremely limited reception in the grocery department of all the Meijer's here. My friend works in the grocery department at Meijer and he used to have T-Mobile. He had absolutely no reception at all there. He switched to VZW and he got a little more reception but not much. Does Meijer build their buildings with reception proof material!?!? LOL

That's a very odd reply from verizon. I believe you can buy a phone seperately at full retail, then return it in 15 days for a full refund, so maybe you could do that to test it out?

Sorry I don't have any direct experience... :-(
