Hey folks, I tried the Walmart trick to save the mp3 clips from walmart.com and then e-mailed them to my phone using my e-mail client. They will come through, except for some reason it lists them as QCP files instead of MP3 files. I am not able to use these QCP files as ring-tones, only to keep in the Sounds folder of the phone. I also tried sending regular mp3 files from my computer of music converted to mp3 and these also show up as QCP. I do have one file that shows up as MP3 and I AM able to use that as a ring-tone file. Does anyone know how to use the Walmart clips as ring-tones on the phone? Also, I am never able to get music clips via vzwpix.com onto my phone, which is why I resort to sending the files as attachments through AO...

once u save them to you computer change the extension to .mid this worked for me ..

this is what i do.

1) i save them to my pc.
2)convert them to .mid
3) save them to my trans-flash card.
4)send the fake pic message to "111"
5) once it is rejected i save file to phone

if you dont have the TF card send the file to phone#@vzwpix.com

but i would spend the $$ on a TF card if you use the ringer id's like i do .. its cheaper then .25 cent picture message ..

hope this helps

Just change the extension from .mp3 to .mid
This program here is free and very helpful, esp if you need to change a lot of files at once

Hey Knicks, how did you get them to show up on your phone as QCP files?? When I first started doing this I had the same problem but I managed to fix it. But know I want to send QCP files to a friends phone that plays QCP files as ring tones. If you could let me know exactly what you did to get it to show up as a QCP file that would be great.

Well, the phone seemed to convert it from mp3 to qcp, it was nothing that I knowingly did. I sent it via e-mail as an mp3 file and it showed up on the phone as a QCP file. Maybe google mp3->QCP and see if any program comes up that could convert for your friend.

I am guessing you do NOT have VCAST service. If you did, it should stay as an MP3 file without the phone converting it (yes, sounds odd, I know).
As I mentioned in a response to someone elses thread (and someone else mentioned in this one), just save the MP3 to your computer, and change the file extension from .MP3 to .MID (upper or lowercase makes no difference). It is not a good idea to change file extensions normally,...
