I would just like to point out that the Openwave browser will allow access to any URL that does not have many frames or javascripst and sometimes has trouble with secure pages. However, I regularly check websites such as phonescoop, slickdeals, engadget, etc from these VCAST phones and the speeds are impressive. This is accessed by using the search feature at the top of the browser and selecting "Go to URL."
Also, the VCAST menus have been very slow on all VCAST phones up to and including the e815 and LG 8100. However, this has been significantly improved with the LG 9800 and makes the use of this application much more convenient.

correcting our mistakes our adding your own opinion is not being "overly critical." it's giving feedback, which is precisely why we open these things to discussion.

i am double checking with verizon and motorola to confirm that the e815 can access address outside of verizon.

as for the slowness of the vcast application, the fact that other phones are almost or just as slow doesn't change the fact that they are slow and thus not really useful to fill a quick chunk of time or quickly quiet a screaming child. we will be reviewing both the vx8100 and 9800 in the near future and will obviously report back on vcast implementation on those two devices as well.

Eric,
Verizon would never confirm that this is available, but I have been able to access many different websites (on both my e815, vx8000, and vx8100) from my verizon phones. Most have to be Mobile web sites or they won't display properly. But, nonetheless, I have been able to access many things other than VZW's provided content.

Hope this helps.
