My E815 battery experiences

When I first got my phone several months ago,
the battery life was just a day or two for the
first few cycles. My wife would get substantially longer with her identical phone.

Now, I typically get 5 days before I'm down to one bar.

Here's what I've learned:

When at work there was a lot more drain, because of the poor to nonexistent reception in the building. Disabling EVDO seemed to help this (although I haven't re-enabled it to check), so now there's not much less battery life on work days. With EVDO disabled, the phone goes into a "power save" mode, which I assume means it's not even trying to reconnect for a while. Hitting the power button seems to force a reattempt to reconnect, but it doesn't always work. It's overall g...

I hear 'conditioning' the battery when you first get it helps.

Fo' example, when I got my Nokia 6256i, the included instructions tell you to charge the battery for 24 hours straight before usin' the phone for the 1st time.

I did so, an' got the full rated battery life from the get-go, which the phone has consistently maintained. Very pleased. 🙂
