i can hear my voice back in my ear, but not quite an echo...

that is the best way i can describe my main issue with this otherwise awesome phone. it is not a speaker phone or bluetooth issue; it occurs with just plain old regular hand set use. i went back to verizon and the E815 they have on display there allows you to make calls. i called the sales guy just to see if it was my phone that was defective, or if the problem could be replicated with a different E815. sure enough, the display E815 had the same problem. i had the sales guy listen, and he agreed that it was really annoying. apparently, all E815s have this problem, but i don't think it annoys everyone as much as it does me. i think since it is such a great phone otherwise, people ignore it...and i've tried to ignore it too, but i just can't.....

Very important question on battery life

I will be using the 815 mostly as a cellphone. If you are using the phone primarily for this, what has been your average talktime and standby time without using a bluetooth headset. If you use a bluetooth headset, please specify what headset and average talktime and standby time. I live in Sherman Oaks, a suburb of Los Angeles.

Don't forget to format your T Flash card.

Be sure to "format" your card before use and after several runs of picture taking and deleting. This is done in the phone info menu. Select storage devices, Trans T-Flash, press middle menu key, when format appears press "select". This procedure will save you getting a corrupted card and loss of desired photos.

I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody, I have a bit of a problem. I just got a new motoroala 815 yesterday and so far am quite pleased with the phones features. However, my previous motoroala phone died on me and it can't be turned on. The problem is all my numbers are in that phone and I need to transfer them to my new phone. How exactly do I do this since my old phone won't turn on? It won't charge up either. So can I jus replace the battery and have someone transfer the information, or find some other method, or is my information competely lost?

My E815 battery meter doesn't work

My wife and I got e815s a week ago. The battery meters on both phones stay at 6 pretty much no matter what we do with them. Then when we plug the phone in, presto, the meter says 2 or 4 or whatever, and it charges for a long time. So it looks like the battery meter program isn't correctly reading the charge level in the actual battery. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

Great phones, by the way. We had quite a struggle getting phone numbers onto them from our Palms, but the reception, sound quality, and voice recognition make up for it.

Possible problem with buttons

I'm about to buy either this or the 8100, and one thing i keep noticing in the display models of the e815 is that the buttons on the inside seem to be peeling off the phone. Is this just a result of hundreds of people playing with the phone all the time, or is it something I might actually have to worry about if I got the phone? Id appreciate any info from people who've got experience with this one way or the other, thanks.

Missing calls while charging

I thought i saw somehting on this the other day but couldnt find it when i looked again.

I was charging my phone the other night and two people called. The phone never rang and only after did it display a new message. I looked at the recent calls and had nothing. This has happened only a few times and seems to be selective. Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Thanks

WAP pictures

I am using my free month of wireless web, and checked out a few sites that offer free wallpapers through WAP. Only problem is when I get to the url that is where the image is...I see the picture fullscreen, and even check the URL and it is a JPEG, but there is NO option anywhere to save the image. I am guessing the same would be true for ringtones. Is this just part of the free month of mobile web as a restriction, or is it just how WAP works on this phone?

Icons on inside /Echo??

I am considering purchasing the E815 by motorola tomorrow but was wondering if anyone has come up with a way to make those darn icons on the main screen disappear?

Also, people are stating that the phone echos when talking on it. Is this just with the speakerphone or all the time? I have an LG and as much as I like it's "pretty" features like the wallpapers and such, the fact that it constantly drops calls is driving me crazy!

EV and 1x???? How to disable???

I just got the e815 and there is a thing on the display that goes from EV to 1x. Is this going to cause the battery to run out? I do not use vcast (if that is what the EV is!!) so I do not need it enabled. Please advise.
Thanks!

Text Message Reseting

Wondering if anyone else has been having an issue with this.
On occasion when I go to reply to a text message the phone will lock up and reset itself. I had this problem on my V710, figured it was fixed with the E815. That was one of the reasons I pushed so insurance so hard to give me the 815 instead of another 710.

Also, whats the newest firmware avail for the 815? Mine has 8720_01.17.03

Otherwise I am VERY happy with the 815 over the 710. Battery life is alot better, no more analog for it to randomly switch into for no reason, havent dropped 1 call yet, and havent missed any calls (that I know of).

BTooth and DUN on E815 over EVDO!!!! IT WORKS!!!!

Just wanted to let you all know that yesterday I popped into my local Verizon store on Rt22 in Union NJ and performed some tests to prove that DUN does work over Bluetooth and EVDO on the E815.

Equipment Tested:
1) Original V710 (bought August 2004)
Paired via Bluetooth with my
Dell Axim X30 624mhz Pocket PC.

2) Verizon's display model E815
Paired via Bluetooth with my
Dell Axim X30 624mhz Pocket PC.

3) Verizon's Audiovox PPC6600 Pocket PC Phone

Speed test Site:
http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed »

Test Procedures:
First I ran a few speed tests with my Axim over my V710 while standing in the VZW store. Doing the 600K test, I consistently scored about 96 kbps.

Next I went to the display model E815 and paired it with my...
