Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

Anyone know of a way to acess games, mp3's rigtones etc on this phone....i have mtorols Phone Tools but no USB DRIVERS for it....... PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!

Guys - I need some help so that Moto will know about these bugs and fix them..

Bug 1 -
Caller ID is Screwed. If you are on a call and you get a call waiting. The number you see is not saved in the call list when you hang up.. This was an old Samsung bug that really pissed me off. On the Moto it actually records it as unknown call. This is totally a bug and needs to be fixed.. This can really upset you when someone calls and you want to call them back and you don't have their number when you think you do.

Bug 2 -
Low Battery when on Vibrate or Silence. The 815 is in Low batt mode quite a bit and when the phone is in Silent or Vibrate it still rings out battery warnings every 2 minutes or so. Imagine Being in a Movie or Office or Cour...

Went to a US Cellular store today with a friend and found a Motorola OEM holster/clip (V710) that allows you to open and use the phone without taking it out of the clip. It can also be removed from the clip as usual. Cost of the holster was $10.

Just wanted to pass this along for those who might like this feature.

I have a V710 and was wondering if an upgrade to an E815 would allow the automatic uploading of the phonebookon a Lexus or Toyota? Aside from the loss of the Analog band, does anyone have a good reason not to upgrade to the E815 if the upgrade is free? I have an older V710 subject to the class action upgrade and I just got a second V710 still within the 15 day period just when the E815 came out.

When I read the T F card on my PC, I double click on the Motorola folder which opens the Shared folder. Double clicking the Shared folder opens the Picture, Video, Ringtones, Mised Media, and Audio files.

The picture folder shows the pix I took on the phone, but the video's I took on the phone do not show in the Video folder. Where are they stored? And will they play on my PC if I can find them?

In addition, when I try and store MP3's in the Audio file, they do not show up when the card is put back in the phone and I go to Media Gallery > Sounds. I do have the storage device set to T F card. If I just drop an MP3 anywhere on the card, it will show up in Sounds.

What is the correct place to store the videos and MP3s. I can't understa...

This is what happened to me, maybe it can help others. I have the E815 and went to the site www.funformobile.com and started downloading wallpaper and mp3 right away with know problem at all. I was shocked how easy it was. When the text messages came in under 'message inbox' it gave me the option to 'Read it' then I could save the file and then apply as ringtone or wallpaper. It was that easy. I then took some time and started messing around with Vcast I didn't see any real value in it for myself and definitely not for 15 bucks a month. So I wouldn't forget to call down the line, I got on the horn with 611 and had it canceled.

The next day I was back at funformobile for some more pics and mp3 and when they were sent to my phone it no long...

I really do LOVE this phone. I love the great reception the most. But the only problem is the battery life. I was expecting something that lasted a bit longer.

It supposidly has a talk time of 4 hours and a standby time of 11 hours.

Isn't standby any time that you are not using your phone?

Yesterday I charged my phone until it said, Charge Complete, which was about 1 1/2 hours. I thought that was a little quick since the battery was beeping low battery before i charged it.

Anyway, today I am down to 2 bars already, and last night i used my phone for about 5 minutes! I havn't used the camera, ringtone application or video part even! All it did was sit there over night and this morning its already down to 2 bars?

When talking on my E815 and I receive another incoming call from someone who is saved in my contacts with a picture, their picture doesn't show up in the Call Waiting Caller ID. Instead, I get a blank white space where the pic should be under their name along with a symbol of a red circle with a line going through it. After this happens, when I view any pics in my contact list, they all show red X's instead of the pictures. Once I close flip, and re-open the phone and go back into my contact list, the pics then show again with the names and numbers. This only happens when I am getting a incoming call while on the phone. Ok, I know this has been discussed exhaustively, and I understand that some phones just do not seem to have the option intact. But has anyone figured out a way to get around the software block without seem edits? I have the capability on my e815 now, but because of a few battery/software problems I want to trade it in for a new one. But if I'm going to lose the capability, I'm not sure it's worth it. And I can't think of a way to check until I get the new phone and give them the old one. And I'm supposed to pick up a new one tomorrow! ARGH! Any help would be appreciated.

I just spotted the new 1GB TF Card Mini SDs on amazon.com. They're $90 but i do not know if they will work with the e815. Hope this is helpful anyway, here's the link:

Does anyone know if the bluetooth USB adapter will work for the E815 using phone tools?

Can someone tell me where to get FREE GAMES and RINGTONES for this phone and how to put them on. I just switched from the LG vx8100.it was a dog with fleas!!

I have had this phone for 2 days, and it will NOT let me send ANY pix messages. It starts to send it, and when it gets between 72% and 92% it says "Unable to Send."

Can someone please help me with this issue???

Does anyone know or have you gotten the correct answer as to why all songs will TRANSFER over to your card, but when you access your songs in the media part of the phone only like half of them show up sometimes? Is it a bitrate thing, do the songs have to fit a certain criteria to show up on the phone? Any help would be appreciated, this card is in my 710 and will be throw into my 815 in a week or so when it arrives, thanx in advance...

I read another thread about the 815 needing to be flashed for the EVDO to work? How can I check my phone for this...I just got it so I don't know! So far though I am seeing alot of bugs!

Does anyone have (or can link to) real world photos of this phone? I'm comparing mainly this and the vx8100, and feature for feature my preference (and it is mainly preference I think) is for the Motorola, although the comments about the external LCD being "not the best" are a bit disconcerting. I wonder exactly what is meant by that.

Too dim?? No information display?? What's the actual grievance with the external LCD?

I visted my local CC store today and saw the dummy E815 on display so i took a look and it looks really good! but when i opened it up and was pressing the keys on the keypad they jiggle a little bit like there not sturdy or soemthing for each individual key...is it just the dummy or is it normal or is that how its supposed to be?

So Radioshack finally gets this phone (well not in my store or any in my district) and then has to send it back to there ghetto repair center because none of them were programed with EVDO!!!

Wow and I really wanted to get this phone soon too...

btw, Radioshack sells the phone for $349.99 with a $50 mail in rebate... so that means $99.99 after rebate for 2 year customers and $149.99 for 1 year customers.

I am not sure if I read this right but if you have the vcast pack for $15 a month then when you go onto mobile web or vcast then you will not be using you minutes...Is that right??
Also if I get rid of vcast and get just mobile web will it be at evdo speeds??
I love this phone!
