Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I've seen the e815 in our local Circuit City ad but I just called both of the Verizon Circuit City stores in the city proper and both said the phone wasn't available. I'm so confused. I would like to get the phone today and I know they have to have it but I don't want to have to go out to the burbs. Anyone else in Chicago have any luck in the city or know anything that might help?

I wasn't aware that Verizon was the operationally inconsistent.

Well there apparently is still no way obvious to Verizon rep to get a contacts list into my Lexus. Not only that, the Lexus software is counting on the adress book being transferred from somewhere, so there is no way to enter it manually.

Paired it up with our 2006 Range Rover tonight. The only thing you can do is make and receive calls. No phonebook available..

What are they doing ?

can you email ringers (midis) as attachments to your phone @vzwpix.com

or do u need the data cable?

I've had several friends call me today and mention that they do not receive the normal tone when calling me....instead they hear, "Please enjoy the music while we locate our customer".....almost a bit to Nextel-ish!!

BTW, I just bought the phone today and added VCAST and love everything about it!! I had the v710 on day one it came out and hated it....been using my Samsung a670, and this is an upgrade....even better (other than styling) than the RAZR (tried that for 2 weeks also and thought it was so-so)

I love that the speakerphone works with the phone closed!!

anyone know why.. when i take a picture and then make it my background picture.. it makes it biggers and therefore the pixels are bigger and the picture itself goes out of the screen?
i'm a new motorola user and am used to the samsung a670 (so far loving the e815) but this i found wierd...

I really like the function that the 8100/8000 provides where it displays the text messages on the front lcd screen. Does the E815 do the same?

How much memory space does the E815 have? As in, how many photos can you take before you can't take anymore?

Also, how many contacts can have a unique picture ID? I'm referring about the VX-6000 which allowed a maximum of 20 pictures to be taken and assigned to contacts (without a little secret to move them into your "My Graphics" folder). Does the picture ID display on the front as well as the inside?

Since a lot of you people already have it, a few questions:1- Are the menus the same as the 710?
2- Speakerphone-how do you answer/disconnect a call with flip closed?
3-Is the charging port the same as the 710?

Went in today to get my phone. Went through the whole process to order the damn thing. But since it had to be ordered the computer would not let me get my NE2 price. The rep tried to say her manager would credit me the 100 dollars after the phone arrived. Pfft. Anyway now i have to wait till the phone is in stock in order to get my NE2 credit.

played with the phone. It was nice. Good size. Not to big. Better sound quality than the lg 4400. People said i sounded clearer. Also as well the video quality wasnt to shabby. Picture quality was very nice though. The menu system i didnt particular like to well. but overall loved the phone can't wait to get my new one.

There is a note for the E815 on page 8 of Circuit City's weekly ad. It says:

The Motorola E815 supports Bluetooth profiles for wireless headsets, hands-free car kits, dial-up networking and phoonebook/date book synchronization with compatible PCs using Motorola Phone Tools.

Can anyone confirm the DUN?

😡 😡 All you guys that have this phone already. Can some one please post a review!! I am not entitled to a upgrade till August and have to pay full retail price.

What are the chances of bluetooth or Verizon digital conversations being intercepted or eavesdropped upon?

I was wondering is anyone with an E815 and a TF card could post a video that they created with their E815, so that I might better judge the quality. Hopefully it's not a crappy one-frame-per-second video capturers like on some cells... 😕

Thinking about getting this phone for my wife...she's currently using an LG VX4400 and doesn't want to go much bigger than that. This phone looks like it rocks 🙂 I was gonna get one myself but I couldn't resist the Samsung i730

I went to the Circuit City store today to buy my E815 and they were completing the sale and low and behold the retail price rang up as $389.99 not $299.99. Which in turn i guess makes sense since all their other V-Cast phones are about $389.99 but you still get a $50.00 mail in rebate. Just thought i would pass that along. So if you can get a phone for $299.99 at full retail i suggest you jump on it ASAP!

Anyone know what BT profiles this phone will support? I am looking for the DUN profile (like the V710) so it will work handsfree with BMW. Any info would be appreciated!

I'd be interested to hear whether anyone has compared the RF capabilities of the E815 to that of the V710. If so, what is the result?

Has anyone been able to connect to MPT or Bitpim? If so, what procedure did you use?

I can't install the phone as a Modem, it doesn't use the same drivers as the v710.

Anyway, this phone is awesome!

Kind of nice.. I like the new Keyboard alot..

I am bummed about the name lookup.. I have over 500 names and to find a name in the M's for instance. I have to hit M and then scroll down more than 20 names to find it.. I am very unhappy with the phonebook arrangement.. The fact that if a person has 3 entries Like Cell , Home and Office. You see it 3 times.. Yuk.. The Samsung packages all in one location.

The other thing really bugging me is the battery warning sound. The phone is in Silent mode and the battery warning which is a beep every minute or so is very annoying.. I can't believe in Silent mode the phone still makes noise.. What are they thinking ?
