Verizon Unloading Phones

if you look at the verizon website they are giving away many phones, and some even multiples. i think they are trying to make lots of room for the new phones coming out soon

man, that isn't a joke every phone that is over a year old is on sale i paid 279.99 for my vx4500 january 2004. I can't wait for this new phone to come out.

I think they've always done that (give away tons of phones). There is more money in services than hardware. The more gizmos the more time you'll spend on it. What do you think Get It Now and Vcast are all about? Nobody WANTS to watch music videos on their phone but if it's there . . .

VZW never really "Gave Away" a bunch of phones. VZW in the past has always benn more expensive on their handsets because of two reasons: 1) they can charge more for the equipment because consumers were willing to pay the price because of the better network. 2) CDMA handsets cost more to make, or more than GSM and (the old) TDMA, therefor they sold them for more money. In the past, VZW only offered BOGO's around December for Christmas and August for the college rush. But now they are running these specials all year long. There are two reasons for this: 1) Yes, there are new phones on the way. Some of the handsets they are "Blowing Out" are discontinued, or will be soon. 2) VZW felt the need to be more competitive on their handset pricing beca...
