As a follow-up to my previous update, The VX8100 is not going to be introduced until Christmas time, if then. My source at Verizon informs me there are definitely no discussions going on about this phone being released anytime soon. However he did tell me there will be greater discounts and rebates on the LG 8000 and LG 6100 in July and August. Again he is pretty high up on the chain.

I found this really odd... All the EV-DO phones Verizon carries right now have $70 mail in rebates... why would this one have a $50? Maybe they are making the phone a little cheaper before rebate... I dunno 🤭

Sorry it just doesn't make sense that Verizon has a rebate form expiring in August for a phone that won't be released until Christmas. Either your contact is not quite high enough in the chain, or he's too high and divulging any info would put his position in jeopardy.

They look pretty real to me. Quite a few CS reps on here have reported seeing the rebate forms and many have seen the phone on the approved devices list. The evidence is getting pretty compelling.

they'll probably make the 8k cheaper to move it and distinguish between the two. People who could care less about huge mem and bt will save the $$ fora vcast phone. If anyone noticed, the 6100 price skyrocketed back up to 150 w a 50 about three or so weeks ago. if the price jumps, they're selling the handset. They'll also hold on to that phoe b/c it's a good camera phone for ppl that don't want or yet need an evdo phone

Sorry, your "high up" friend is incorrect. The phone is NOT coming out in December. The phone is coming out either the end of this month or early next month. It's on the approved list. It's due to be out June 27th according the approved list and your "high up" friend would more than know this if he/she was truly a VZW employee or as high up as he/she claims to be. I haven't been at VZW for very long and have been able to locate this info so what does that say about your friend? Hmmmmmm........

This picture is for real 😉 . If you look at the date and time it says Thur. June 16 @ 12:01 PM. The only thing that I cant and don't want to believe is that later on in the forum is says that is will be around $400 😲 . You would think that is a phone cost that much that verizon would give a larger rebate 🤣

The phone will probably be 400 at full retail, which means it will be closer to 300 before rebate. By the way, I checked my approved device list, it's there and we got the rebates today. Everything people have said about the rebate and device list has proved to be true. I even saw something on the device list which leads me to believe it will be out on the 27th. Also most of the time we release new stuff on Mondays which is another reason it may be true.
