Sorry for the length of this.....

Ok....I've been lurking here for a few days. I'm due up for new every two and I really love LG phones. I'm pretty hard on cellphones - drop 'em, sweat on 'em, get paint on 'em (ok, I'm exaggerrating a little, but I am not a suit and tie businessman working in an air conditioned office all day) anyhow, LG's have always been great for me. My first LG was the 510, this last one was the 4400....both great for me.

Been looking at VZW stores the last few days....I really want a speakerphone...and I am intrigued by the idea of a wireless headset (sometimes get a call while on a ladder, etc)....but I really don't have to have it. I don't need a camera, but what decent phone doesn't have one?

Been leaning t...

Yes, I do hear that the 8100 is supposed to have the desktop charger. I do like those much better myself..
As far as the battery on the back.. I am not quite sure but I believe it does not have the cover over the battery. But I haven't seen the back, just the side view and it doesn't look like a cover.
As far as the Motorola, I am not as impressed my Motorola much anymore as they just seem so cheap in quality. A friend of mine has the 710 and it just seems so plastic and cheap feeling.. Besides, I have noticed that Motorola technology isn't what it used to be that's for sure..
But that's just my personal opinion..

I too am up for my New every 2 and I will wait for the 8100..

The las couple of LG's (vx3200 and vx6100) do not support desktop charging. I believe the vx4500 was the last to do so. The vx4500 sounds like the phone for you if speakerphone is the only vital feature. Don't waste your money for a ferrari when a reliable honda will be sufficient. The 4500s are durable and reliable in true LG fashion. Besides, don't forget you have your 15 day worry free guarantee. Get the 4500 and if you absolutely have to have the 8100 take your 4500 back withing your 2 weeks and pay the difference. 😎

That's if the 8100 comes out within the two week period.. so keep that in mind too.. I am holding out for the 8100.. I will take functionality over a charger type any day..

Yeah....but I've read bad stuff about the speakerphone crapping out on a lot of folks.

Considering the 6100 now! (but the speakerphone didn't seem as loud on the two stre models I compared....maybe that's why the 4500 craps out!)

I do like the size of the 8000..at least the bigness of the keypad and the "feel" of it. Seemed really hefty.

Anyways.....probably won't make up my mind until the 8100 does finally come out!
