Thought I'd mention.....
I just saw an EV-DO commercial for verizon wireless on tv. I can't remember who said this, but they said that we would see a slew of EVDO commercials right before the release of the vx8100. Everything seems to be lining up for the release of the phone next Monday...June 27.
I'm willing to place bets....I just have a feeling about it.

bottom line is the phone isn't in the store or even in the warehouse. i can confirm that we do have the mail in rebates in the store which are set to expire late aug(the 24th i think) you can say that the release date has been pushed back, but there never was a release date, and this is the reason why. it's so complicated to get a phone out. you have...
1. all the beta testing(yes, this does happen) my boss had a nlg vx7000 about 3 months before it was released)
2. revisions from the testing
3. marketing(advertising and coordination with other sales and such)
4. and in addition you have to make sure the product is actually available in stores before you "release it"
keep in mind phones like the treo 650. this phone came out mo...

Finally a "cool-headed" reply to all this 8100 hype! Don't get me wrong....I've become as obsessed about this phone as anyone here (not sure why....maybe just because it's an LG with bluetooth which I may not ever use?).
It's like we're all wanting to believe that all these verizon employees are in on this big secret....when truth is, most of them could care less what phone comes out when....just clock in and clock out with as little job stress as possible!
I'm gonna wait til at least monday....not sure if I'll give it til July...

these posts made me smile. ill admit, im psyched for the 8100 to come out because im a fan of LG and this has bluetooth. but still people are going way to far out on this and trying to photoshop pictures of the 8100? i thought that was a bit nuts. its nice to know that there are a few sane ones left on phone scoop. 😉
