VZW Garbage

👿 👿 👿 As I said in a previous thread, you probably won't see the 8100 for a while. They are stuck with a lot of garbage that nobody wants. They are over-stocked with phones that are the same old technology. But having the best network, they can do as they please, knowing people won't stray. They have been doing this for years with no regard for customers. Sales are low because people are looking for more. When the hell are they going to wake up and do something for us. Whoever is handling their marketing should get a clue. They are costing VZW a pretty penny. Sorry guys, I just had to vent.

We've had the best year for Verizon to date. We can't even offer ne2 as an insirect dealer and we STILL have done tons of upgrades. They do have the best network, and you can't find anything comprable for less money. Even Cingular whose service pales in comparison is at the same price point for rates. As long as my phone makes and receives calls without dropping and I get a clear signal, re-activate my old starTAC and I'm happier than a pig in slop. I can't even use EV-DO here till '06 anyway so for the rest of the people on my boat, we'll just plod along with our obselete equipment in the hope that someday we's gonna get ours

😡 😡 😡 If they're doing so good, why the constant advertising. When you advertise like that, it means unloading phones or business hurting. I have an LG 6000 and lately, numerous dropped calls.

I don't think you get it. Lots of advertising doesn't necessary mean they're in the dumps.

Take beer for instance. The number 1 & 2 beers -- Bud and Miller -- clog the airwaves, magazines and TV with advertising. It has nothing to do with being on the skids. It means they're doing well and are highly competitive. The same can be said for the wirelss business. They are making a profit and are nose to nose with other carriers for features and network size and speed.

Unloading phones is not the goal. It's not really a problem. Again as we've often said in this forum. The bulk of profit is made with the service, not the hardware. Do the numbers. compare a 1 or 2 year service contract with month to month costs compared to the hardware. You'...

it does sound like somebody's been drinkin piss. judging by the lack of punctuation it's some strong stuff. keep in mind, there's not just some guy in a tower that pulls a lever and 8100's start flying out of sales peoples asses. think about manufacturing, distribution, marketing.

If what you say about advertising is true, then the Pakistani guy who runs the gas station outside my store is doing better business than Shell or Mobil, because he's not on TV at all! Think about it!?!
Cellular is a cutthroat business. EVERYBODY IS ADVERTISING TO CREATE BUSINESS AND SOFTEN LOSSES.

Oh please, all I see in the DC Metro area are Cingular and T-Mobile commercials and I'm still waiting for the LG-8000 that I currently own now to drop a call.

Shouldn't this go in the Verizon forum?
