A little detective work...

8100stalker

Jun 24, 2005, 9:32 PM
On the interactive user guide for the 8000, the date on the phone says September 3 (2004)and it was released in February 2005. When you manipulate the address and put in 8100 the date on the phone says March 15 (2005). Is it safe to say an August date for the release or have i just been spending too much time on this website.

thats actually some good detective work but keep in mind the 8000 was used in testing verizons ev-do network so it was produced long before it came out for the mass market for this reason the dates are so far apart look for it on the 5th or the 12th

I talked to a Verizon CS rep on 06-23-05 and was put on hold when I asked about the 8100. After a while, she came back on the phone and said that the date wasn't set in stone, nor could she guarantee the date, but she was told somewhere around July 27th. I think I am considered to be in the NE market (Virginia).

also the 8000 release was timed to coincide with the premier of v-cast. meaning they waited not just for phone testing and marketing, but also for some serious network updates.

Piggys--where in VA? (I'm in Salem--near Roanoke.) I guess our "markets" will release the same time?

That date is on all the websites that i have looked at with pictures of this phone i think it might be a basic set of pictures that are used for this phone. and i also think that date is around the time that the FCC approved the phone and it when public

No, your right eightOeight, it doesn't make sense.. I think the phone is coming out sooner than people think..
They would not print out millions of rebate labels that cost MONEY that they would just have to throw away and make more SPENDING more MONEY.. to put off bringing out the phone..
I have always been told to go with my first instinct, so that is what I am going to do.. I feel it is going to come out this week, so I am going to wait.
hope other people don't lose their patience and get something they really don't want, just because they think the 8100 won't be here for a long time.
Thanks for your post.
