Music on demand?
Friday, when I was shopping for a wired headset, one of the techs seemed to know about the 8100 (though knew nothing of "when"). He said the phone will have a "music on demand" feature whereby you can hold it up to your radio and it will tell you what song is playing, artist, etc. Interesting feature that I never heard of (and wouldn't likely use)....was he confused with another phone or just smokin' sumptin'????

i have heard of that before, but i didn't think this phone was going to have that, I also heard that verizon was thinking about creating their own mp3 download site to go with some of the mp3 phones coming out in the future. It is supposed to work like a itunes and you download it onto your phone, and with the 8100 you could put it on the memory card and load from there into your computer. It would be seperate from the current get it now crap. But it is all rumors I suppose, we will have to see.

Song IDentity is a get it now application which is currently available on quite a few verizon phones. it's a netork feature, not a phone feature. you can find it on capable phones under
-get it now
-get tunes and tones
-get new
-new provider
-music recognition
-Song IDentity
a buck for one use or 10 uses for 9 bucks(oh the savings!)
