OK....RANT TIME!!!!!!!!!

Just to clear up a few things I've seen getting kicked around on the forum:
1) We (Reps) do NOT know the release date. We are all waiting for this phone as well so please, don't think we're holding back the release date from the general public. We simply don't know.
2) Since we do not know the release date, any date you hear is simply an educated guess. The best guess was this past Monday and it didn't come out, so you can sse that we're all just guessing here. On a side note, I have heard later this week, or maybe July 5th (I could be wrong)!
3) Stop comparing the 8100 to the E815. The V710 had a bunch of problems (software and the screen). The E815 is simply an upgrade to the V710 and we all knwo that those pesck Moto charging ports need to change!
4) Cost of the 8100?????? No idea, just like the release date. Any price you see kicked around here is a guess.
5) CSR's (for the most part) don't care about what phones are coming out. If a CSR tells you "I have no idea what you are talking about" do NOT think that the 8100 is untrue. The reps know MUCH more about phones than the CSR's (for the most part). SOME CSR's are up to date on this stuff and to them, thank you for keeping up, but most do not.
6) YES it has bluetooth (kinda). Just like the V710, the bluetooth will be "crippled" to a degree. Verizon's expalnation is simply this: Bluetooth is very easy to hack into and they want to protect their customer's information. This is VERY believable since Verizon is very big on the security of their devices and customer's info, but we all know that they want to make an extra buck as well on certain features that are crippled on the bluetooth, after all, it is a big business.
7) It has finished testing, they are just waiting on a release date. It has been tested A LOT and passed with flying colors (so I hear). Soon people....soon.

I know it's got to be frustrating! I completely understand when you say that some CSRs keep up upcoming phones and some do not - like if you work at Applebees and LOVE it, then you may be aware of new dishes that are coming out, etc. But if you work there and don't care about the job, then you wouldn't keep up with anything that wasn't required.

That totally makes sense. 😁

Hopefully, for you guys' sakes (VZW employees), a release date will be "released" soon so that people don't accuse y'all of lying. I know I've been terribly worrisome and bad about calling and asking about the 8100. I know that some who actually are interested in new phones, like you said, try to keep up with what's going on. I know the phone will be out one...

WOW someone out there other than another rep understands the frustration!!!!! This is a glorious day indeed LOL. Thank you for the understanding...you're one of those GOOD customers aren't you?

Yesterday I stopped in my local VZW store to inquire about the 8100. What a pleasant experience it was! The manager was friendly, helpful (even though she didn't know the date), knowledgable (even knew about the 8100!--promised to call me when she knew anything. She didn't even try to sell me another model--said she would wait because if I "settled" for the 8000, I would feel "cheated." Even though I did not come away with the phone, I still felt "taken care of" by this manager.

keep in mind, we're in the "sales" business, not the "returns" business. 😉 we also know that by taking care of you this time you'll hopefully look for us when you're ready to buy. we are on commission after all. i love it when customers come back to me because they were treated fairly. also if you find a really good sales rep at your local store, tell your friends! we love referrals! 😁

i would say to anyone who wants to know info on upcoming phones. YOU'RE AT THE RIGHT PLACE. most of the sales reps(that really give a crap) for verizon, or any of the other majors, follow these sights and chime in when they have some useful info. don't waste your time(or our time) at the stores or over the phone with cs.

A Verizon Employee such as yourself is very rare unfortunately. Most of the Verizon Employees I have come across are elitist pricks that think they know everything.

If only Verizon were just honest with the customers instead of creating a frustrating enviroment. 👿

I have been a verizon customer going on six years now ( back when they where Airtouch). I have called customer service many times over the years and never once have I received poor customer care. They have always been pleasant and took the time to explain or fix or credit whatever my needs where with no argument. Whenever I have been into a store I receive the same professionalism. Now granted I make it know by my commen...

Just want to say to everyone thanks for all of the good coments towards the reps on here. We know that there are (unfortnately) some pricks out there, but for the most part I feel that most of us on here are the nice, friendly, helpful ones. And also thanks to everyone for understanding my points in the rant!

I definitely understand how some CSR's care and some don't. Just to let everyone know I am one that does care. I'm waiting for this phone myself so I'm always trying to find as much info as possible on this phone. It is true, until something is released to the public or more importantly released on our infomanager, then any other speculations regarding the release date or price are simply guesses.
