EVDO question & BMW bluetooth compatibility

SPEEEDR

Will I need to sign up for a smartphone/data plan in order to use the EVDO service or will I be able to use the EVDO with a regular voice plan?

Also, does anyone know if VX8100 will work with the BMW integrated bluetooth. My v710 works perfectly and I can only buy a new phone that is compatible.

No, Bluetooth may appear to be bluetooth, but that is not always the case. As has been stated here before, there are segments of Bluetooth that Verizon does not permit usage of. There have been many owners, of different types of autos, who have commented on the fact that various phone models do not sync up with their particular auto.

You can use your regular plan. You just have to purchase the VCast access as an extra like a Text Bundle or Pix/Text Bundle. You can get unlimited VCast for $15.00/per month which will also give you unlimited Get-It-Now (great for games) and unlimited Mobile Web as well as streaming video. As for compatibitility for your car I would think the answer is yes since the VX8100 will have that part of the Bluetooth functional. You should consult with a Verizon technical expert to be certain though.
