I called Verizon Wireless today to check if I was eligible for the NE2 (not because I did not sign a 2-year contract). BUT she did say I was eligible for a phone upgrade--and that would mean a discount. Does anyone know what kind of discount that is?
Thanks! I feel/am stupid for asking ðŸ¤

ok i will be more than happy to assist you, the ne2 is where whatever phone you buy depending on the price of it you could get a credit of up to 100.00 of the 2yr price if it is 29.99 then you get the discount of 29.99 etc if it is more than 100 dollars then you can use the whole 100 credit and the phone is whatever is left after that.
upgrading you phone simply means that you can buy a phone at the 1or 2yr price and get it for whatever the discounted price of the phone is, like for example the samsung a670is now 49.99 with a 2yr agreement upgrading just means you can upgrade from your current phone to that phone at that price thats it.
hope that helps you, and in the words of my teacher there are not stupid questions smile

Thanks for the info, gertrina4u 🙂
I was hoping for more discount. Oh, well--I'll be happy with the phone no matter what!

I know it says you have to have the same phone for the 2 years i had the same model but it was replaced 2 under warranty will i be still eligible for the NE2
...
You dont to have the same phone to be eligible. I started with the vx6000 and bought 7000 and im still elegible. You cant start a new contract, that all.
...
Suppose I take the VX7000 for now. What if i want to later on update to the VX8100 or something else, during the two year contract? Do I have to pay the full retail price?
The reason i'm wondering is cause I started a new contract on the 19th and took the Samsung a670 and havn't been very happy with it. I only have a few days left to exhchange my phone, and I'm having problems deciding what to choose. I was really hoping the 8100 would be out in time.

You to pay full retail. Your other optionnis to start a new contract to get the phone at a discounted price. But if you do that, i know they say you must take a 2 year contract and you have to stick with it.
Why not return the samsung and take another phone and hope the 8100 comes out within the 15 days of that new phone. If that at all possible

a couple of things. to be eligible for newe2 it has to have been 22 months since you last received upgrade pricing on a phone. you have to have been on a two year contract, and you have to resign for a new 2 year contract. extending your contract 2 years for a new promo without purchasing a phone at upgrade pricing will not change the date. also, the 15 day return exchange policy is one time only. exceptions are made, but rarely. i would talk to the store manager about going back to your old phone if you want to hold out for the 8100. that way they don't have to junk two brand new phones. verizon loses money every time you exchange a phone, we have to send it back to the manufacturer so they can refurbish the phone and use it for warranty re...

Im a little confused because your telling me something different to what a VZW sales rep has told me instore.
I was told tou can still collect on the new2 even if you take a 1 year contract. The catch being i hade to take the plan over $50.
Was the information i was given correct, you seem to be an employee yourself

Wow total B/S lies...... If a store rep offered you the ne2 w/ a 1 yr you better be sure to go thru them to do it cuz that's way beyond exception ... noone else will do that i can guarantee that... I bet you were dealing with someone who was new lol. 🤣
