Don't be so quick to buy the 8100 (Warning)

I'm now fighting with Verizon to replace my 8000 (going on my 3rd one) due to software issues on the Data side. I've gone into 3 Verizon stores in the area and not a single one of them has an 8000 in tech support replacement because Verizon's policy to replace the phone everytime yours glitches in a year with a REFURBISHED phone (not a brand new one out of the box). They also won't let you upgrade and pay the difference in price for another one.

I would recommend waiting and seeing what kind of issues this phone has before using your NE2 or early upgrade options.

I caused a Verizon Wireless rep to lose a sale on the 8000 yesterday when he asked what kind of issues I had with the phone. I told him and and mentioned how Verizon handled...

Considering I bought my first one in Feb and had it replaced in May and now this one in July is a bit much. I'm afraid that by the time my next upgrade rolls around that I'll have owned around 6-8 of these phones.

Just a warning to everyone that if the 8100 glitches that this is the policy Verizon has adopted.

It isn't a policy they've "adopted". They've had it for as long as I can remember. But like the previous person said, be glad VZW actually offers this exchange because my girlfriend has had a glitchy Moto v400 w/ Finkular and they won't replace it. They say since it's a manufacturer issue, she has to send it to Moto in Texas. Besides, after three exchanges, they usually offer you a different refurb phone. Sorry about the issues you've had with your phone. I'm hoping the VX8100 will have worked out all the kinks the 8000 had. I'm also in agreement with the fact that it's best to wait to see how the new technology fairs.

I had a 7000 and loved it but had an issue with reception and dropped calls after about 9 months and I had a blue one and all they had were black ones. The charger jack is different on it so they gave me a V710 for an exchange but when the 8000 dropped in price a week or so so they gave me that one for an exchage. Thanks not to shaby. They have a great policy and all those that dont like it just send it to the manifacure. LOL
