A couple of weeks ago, I was dead set on getting this phone. Then I saw that Samsung was coming out with a new camcorder style phone that had a 2.0 MP camera with optical zoom. Now, I'm debating on whether I should wait on the Samsung phone. Does anyone have any experience with Samsung phones? If so, how do Samsung phones compare to LG phones?

Thanks.

i am partial to LG or Motorola, Samsung phone in my opinion have speaker issues. The sound from wither the speakerphone or the handpiece always sound muffled. Plus I much prefer bluetooth and Samsung does not provide this on many of there phones if not all of them.
I'm sure the newer one will have bluetooth, but i'm partial to other brands now.
Good luck

i like samsung in general. the vcast model we have out right now is a really nice phone. they don't seem to like speakerphone though. none of the current samsung phones have one. and as mentioned before they have yet to release a model with bluetooth. also the 970 just started beta testing. that means "if" they decide to release it we're looking at early 2006 if i had to guess. don't hold your breath. also, there's no garauntee that it'll ever make it to the consumer.

You could always wait, but there are always even better phones coming out. At some point you have to pick your poison. I'd like to wait for the Samsung SCH-V740, but that will be a long time coming. For me, the 8100 should provide me with what I need for at least the next year.

After that, it will outdated and I'll need a new toy to play with...

I was going to get the 8100 until I saw the Samsung model and decided to hold off on the 8100. I'm also not in that much of a hurry to get the a new phone now as I may decide to switch carriers in Feb when my contract is up.
